Unfortunately, many educational institutions in the Cape Town area face significant security challenges, from vandalism to theft and unauthorised access, which directly impact the safety of learners and staff.
That is why we are incredibly proud to announce a major corporate social responsibility initiative: Centurion Systems is helping to secure ten schools across Cape Town by upgrading their access control systems.

What the Programme Entails: A SMΔRT Solution for School Safety
Our initiative is centred around providing a complete, state-of-the-art security upgrade for the school gates. Here is what the ten selected schools will receive:
- A CENTURION SMΔRT Gate Motor: Our most trusted and reliable gate motor technology, designed for robust performance and enhanced security.
- Comprehensive Safety Beams: Crucially, each installation will include vital safety beams. These beams are essential for preventing the gate from closing on a person or object, significantly protecting learners during peak entry and exit times.
- Expert, Voluntary Installation: The entire process – from setup to final testing – will be carried out by our dedicated network of CENTURION Certified Trained SMΔRT Installers (CTSI) who are volunteering their time and expertise as part of this community effort. This ensures the schools receive professional, high-quality installation that adheres to the highest safety standards.
How It Works
Instead of simply choosing the schools ourselves, we’ve turned this initiative into a community-driven process. The ten schools will be chosen via a public nomination competition, ensuring we reach the schools that need this support the most.
Schools within a 50km radius of the City of Cape Town are eligible for nomination, giving the local community the power to decide who wins this vital security upgrade.
