Securing Soweto Schools. One Gate at a Time.

In Soweto, every school day starts at the gate. Parents drop off children, taxis pull up, learners stream in, and staff do their best to control who enters and who leaves. When that gate is unreliable, everyone feels it. That is why Centurion Systems is launching the Securing Your School in Soweto 2025 campaign, running from 17th November to 18th December 2025.

This campaign gives ten schools across Soweto the chance to win a CENTURION SMΔRT gate motor with safety beams, installed by Certified Trained SMΔRT Installers (CTSI) who are volunteering their time and skills. The goal is simple. Help schools tighten security at the entrance so that principals and teachers can focus on educating learners.

How the campaign works

Parents and residents of Soweto are invited to nominate the schools they care about. Once you complete your nomination, you can share the competition with family and friends. Every share earns additional entries for your nominated school, increasing its chances of being selected as one of the ten winners.

Why gate security matters

For many schools, the gate is the first and sometimes only real control point. A modern SMΔRT gate motor, paired with safety beams, helps create a more controlled, predictable environment. It supports safer drop offs and pick-ups, aswell as more reliable access control throughout the day.

Proudly South African, rooted in Soweto

Centurion Systems is a Proudly South African brand, designed and manufactured locally, with products already protecting thousands of homes and businesses across the country. With Securing Your School in Soweto, that same technology is being put to work for the next generation. It is about more than gate motors and beams. It is about giving learners, staff and parents one more reason to feel that their school is looked after.

How to get involved

  • Nominate your chosen school in the Securing Your School in Soweto competition (only schools within Soweto are eligible for this competition).
  • Share the campaign link with family, friends and your wider community.
  • Encourage others to back the same school so that it builds up as many entries as possible before Thursday 18th December.
  • The ten winning schools to be announced on Friday 19th December on Centurion Systems’ social media channels.

Together, the people of Soweto, Centurion Systems and CTSI installers can help protect what matters most. One school gate at a time.
