CENTURION’s first full year under the FAAC banner was a showcase of accomplishment and innovation from both a product offering and a corporate identity perspective.
“It was a whirlwind year,” says Centurion Systems’ communications coordinator, Charl Mijnhardt. “To put it in sporting terms, 2017 was a game of two halves”.
While the first half of the year was dedicated mostly to strategy and development, back-to-back releases of a new corporate video and an overhauled company website in June marked the year’s turning point, kicking off the high-octane second half of the match.
The twin brand-building exercises set the pace for the remainder of the year, and were followed by CENTURION’s inaugural – and hugely successful – Access Automation Expo in September, which is still being talked about three months after the fact.
While the Expo proved to be an accomplishment in its own right – bringing together distributors, installers and integrators for the first expo of its kind in South Africa – much of its success can be attributed to the three brand new products that were officially launched at the event.
Visitors to the expo were treated to their fill of high-tech goodness courtesy of the palate-pleasing pairing of the G-ULTRA and G-SPEAK ULTRA, before being served a healthy dollop of innovative access automation in the form of the SDO4 garage door operator. In addition, a hearty spread of reliable and robust FAAC solutions awaited the some 500 delegates who came from across Gauteng and the surrounding provinces to take part in the landmark event, which was held at the spectacular Galleria venue in Sandton, north of Johannesburg.
“This has been one of our busiest years in recent memory,” says Mijnhardt. “We feel incredibly proud of what we have accomplished, especially with regards to the expo. [Making it a success] took a lot of preparation, blood, sweat and tears, [but we] simply couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. We can look back at the past 12 months and say, hey, we did some truly amazing things”.
