Whereas much of the world entered the new millennium with a fair amount of trepidation, by the time the 2010s rolled around we had built up enough momentum to be catapulted into a new age of technological innovation. Y2K anxiety had long since subsided, no cataclysmic events had come to pass, and the world was poised and ready to embrace the future. For their part, inventors and innovators were ready to deliver, letting their imaginations run wild as the fevered visions of yesterday’s science fiction writers became a stark reality. The past decade has completely changed the way that we track our health and fitness (the rise of smartwatches); interact with our environments (advancements in artificial intelligence and virtual reality); and even how we consume food (lab-grown meat). The decade also reinvented media, with Instagram fashionistas and YouTube content creators becoming influencers and cultural icons – celebrities of the Digital Age.
Also, the “cronut” was invented. We have just one question about this croissant-donut hybrid: why didn’t anyone think of it sooner?

Released: 2010

In 2016, we introduced the heir to the throne of high-volume vehicular access control. With an updated look that perfectly matches its superior performance, an optimised design for the ultimate in ease of installation and boasting the awe-inspiring speed that made its predecessor king of the access control jungle, the SECTOR II is the embodiment of automation evolution.
Released: 2017
Labelled the “ultimate new GSM solution”, the appropriately-named G-ULTRA – which was launched to massive acclaim at CENTURION’s inaugural Access Automation Expo held in September of that year – put a fresh new spin on mobile-based access control with a plethora of new features including a sleek new design, easy access to diagnostics and intelligent gate status monitoring.

As the previous decade drew to a close, the launch of the WiZo-Link served as a reminder that the future had truly arrived, and it was beautifully, gloriously wireless. With great éclat was demonstrated the potential of a wireless wire able to connect a wide array of devices and appliances through ultra-secure, always-on mesh network technology.
